OUR AREA
There are countless villages and towns that can be visited in the area around Montaione; in addition to the famous art cities of Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca which can be reached in about an hour, we find in the immediate vicinity the medieval villages of San Gimignano, Volterra and San Miniato, as well as the renowned Tyrrhenian coast, also known as the coast of the Etruscans.
The monastic complex of San Vivaldo and its Sacro Monte, in the municipality of Montaione, deserve a special note. Here we find a series of small chapels, a scale version of the Jerusalem of the time of the Crusades.
